The Community

We choose to locate Stone Hearth Pizza in communities where community matters. These are towns where the residents are passionate about where they live, love great food and recognize and appreciate great service.  Community means being active and giving back.  We admire these attributes, strive to have them ourselves and are very enthusiastic about making positive and long-lasting contributions to the communities in which we do business. Our local suppliers include:

Angelato
Hailing from Sicily, “gelato” translated from Italian simply means ice cream, but anybody that has ever had the pleasure of tasting authentic Italian gelato knows that a simple translation does not do justice to this frozen delight. Following age-old recipes with strict adherence to the artisan tradition, Angelato creates a treat that is purely authentic and bursting with flavor. Located in Belmont, Mass., around the corner from the first Stone Hearth Pizza location, Angelato delivers its gelato fresh each day.

Blythedale Farm
Makers of Green Mountain Gruyere, this small Vermont farm produces artisanal cheeses from its herd of 16 Jersey cows. Stone Hearth Pizza is proud to support this family-run operation, which is able to provide the restaurants with products of unsurpassed quality and flavor. Try Green Mountain Gruyere in Stone Hearth’s Fresh arugula, roasted Portobello salad

Endurance Brewing Company
Endurance Brewing was named for the legendary 1914 Endurance Voyage of Sir Ernest Shakelton, the first ever to attempt traversing the Antarctic. The tasty India Pale Ale is locally brewed in Ipswich, Mass., and is always flowing freely at Stone Hearth Pizza in honor of the courageous crew.

Grafton Village Cheese Company
Cheesemaking traditions in historic Grafton, Vt., date from the nineteenth century, when dairy farmers gathered together in a cooperative to make their surplus milk into cheese. Grafton’s raw-milk cheeses have the depth and complexity of flavor appreciated by cheese lovers. The company’s two-year aged Classic Reserve Cheddar is featured on Stone Hearth Pizza’s Cheeseburger pizza.

Great Hill Dairy
Located on the shores of Buzzard's Bay in Marion, Mass., Great Hill Dairy is known for its outstanding herd of Guernsey cows and its incredible tasting blue cheese made in a turn-of-the-century barn. Great Hill Blue is an internally ripened variety made with raw, unhomogenized milk, resulting in a true gourmet-quality cheese. Stone Hearth features Great Hill Blue Cheese on its Bacon and blue cheese pizza.

Harpoon Brewery
Harpoon is New England’s largest craft brewery, turning out some of the finest microbrews available. In addition to serving Harpoon’s UFO, a traditional Hefeweizen (wheat beer), Stone Hearth Pizza is also one of the few establishments to consistently offer Harpoon’s 100 Barrel Series, seasonal offerings that are brewed in limited quantities.

Maplebrook Farms
With the shared vision of using their ancestors’ traditional methods to produce fine cheeses, a third-generation cheesemaker and an accomplished Italian chef created Maplebrook Farms in 2001. Located in Bennington, Vt., Maplebrook Farms uses a hand stretching process to yield its consistently delicious Mountain Mozzarella, featured on Stone Hearth Pizza’s Margherita, Bean and Farm fresh pizzas.

Muir Glen Organics
Since Muir Glen Organics’ founding over a decade ago, the company has been committed to helping farmers grow tomatoes organically. All of Muir Glen's tomatoes are field grown and vine ripened under certified organic practices, without synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Stone Hearth’s signature sauce uses a blend of Muir Glen and Stanislaus tomatoes.

North Country Smokehouse
The pork used to make the all-natural maple cured and applewood smoked bacon from North Country Smokehouse is raised in the small town of Duberton in Quebec, Canada. Its bacon is smoked at higher temperatures than commercially smoked bacon, yielding a more intense flavor. Most importantly, the operation is certified humane raised and handled, meeting standards for farm animal welfare. Try North Country Smokehouse products on Stone Hearth Pizza’s Spicy banana peppers and homemade sausage pizza.

North Dakota Mill
Since 1922, North Dakota Mill in Grand Forks, N.D., has been on the cutting edge of mill operations in supplying its customers with organic products. It currently offers several varieties of organic wheat, and Stone Hearth finds North Dakota Mill flour to be the absolute best for making its thin crust Neapolitan-style pizza.

Otter Creek Brewing
Otter Creek use only Vermont water and the best domestic hops available on the market to create its distinct microbrews. Whether it’s one of the tasty Wolaver’s Organic brews or one of the Otter Creek beers, Stone Hearth Pizza is proud to pour this local, small-batch favorite.

River Rock Farm
River Rock Farm in Brimfield, Mass., raises its livestock in pastures, rather than feedlots, promoting the health and well-being of its animals, in addition to that of its customers. The company uses no artificial growth hormones or artificial feed additives, making it the best ground beef for Stone Hearth to feature on its Cheeseburger pizza.

Rao’s Coffee Roasters
Located in Amherst, Mass., Rao’s sources its beans from the tropical high altitude regions of the best coffee centers of the world—South America, Africa, Arabia, India and Indonesia—and has developed a strong following in the Northeast among high-end restaurants. Stone Hearth uses Rao’s beans in all of its specialty coffee beverages.

Stonyfield Farm Dairy
Stonyfield Farm of Londonderry, N.H., began making organic yogurt in the early 1980s to fund its organic farming school, which is committed to teaching sustainable agricultural practices. The business quickly became a viable enterprise unto itself, and the company is now known as a pioneer in the organic dairy field. Stone Hearth Pizza uses Stonyfield Farm organic milk exclusively in its specialty coffees.

Thistle Hill Farm
Thistle Hill Farm is located in North Pomfret, Vt., and gained organic certification over 15 years ago. The farm’s Tarentaise is handmade in the tradition of the Tarentaise Valley in the Savoie region of the French Alps, but the cheese has a flavor and texture that reflects the climate, cows and idiosyncrasies of Thistle Hill Farm. Stone Hearth Pizza offers Thistle Hill Farm Tarentaise as a special in salads from time to time.

Verrill Farm
Through the use of sound and efficient farming practices, Verrill Farm in Concord, Mass., strives to maintain the land and nourish the bodies and souls of its customers by providing healthful food with superb flavor. In season, Stone Hearth Pizza buys most of its lettuce and herbs from Verrill Farm and incorporates other seasonal produce into its menu as specials.
